Biography

Ester Fabregat (b. Tarragona, 1977) is a plastic artist, sculptor and performer from Spain. She has obtained a PhD degree in Fine Arts “Cum Laude” from the University of Barcelona. Spain.

Living and travelling between different countries is a cultural learning experience, and she always lives it like a domestic artistic experience. Receiving scholarships on several occasions, she has researched contemporary art in Brazil, France, Germany and Greece where she has based her production. Her artistic projects have been exhibited in Copenhagen, Berlin, Brussels, Paris, Barcelona, Tarragona, Torino, Athens, Thessaloniki and Natal (Brazil), among others. She has made two temporary monumental public sculptures, one for the City Council of Berlin and the other for the City Council of Valls. She won the 35th Prize Julio Antonio of Sculpture, Biennale of Art 2010, from the Museum of Modern Art in Tarragona, Spain, and the Artville First Prize of the International Art Fair 2008 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Currently she combines her artistic work with research of polymeric materials applied to art, three-dimensional experimentation and large sculptures in different universities, schools and creation centers around the world.
